same $%#* next day
one of the problems with aa lot of the voleenteer squads out there is the fact that you have the old school and you have the new school neither know the right way of doing things and neither one of them is willing to work with the other. you you get the same old shit every time you go in and then you wounder why your squad is catching so much flak and things are not going smoothly. i got a good pice of advice today, dont let it run you life dont feel commited to doing doing it. well that is the problem, i do feel commited. i have now been an emt for about a year and it has been a big part of my life. but even though it has been a year i still feel like i need a lot more experience to work with, and i dont feel like i am getting that with uvac sad but true, i want to get out of there when i can and go work for a real squad and only run with unity when i have the time. i want things to be good and i want to keep getting new skills, uvac is old school thigns need to change the shit is going to hit the fan.

looking back
looking back on the last year a lot of things have happened since the start of 2008. perhaps a moment of reflection is in order, since now we are actualy in the new year and i am goign to be writing the wrong date for a long time to come, at least half way to 2010
one year ago i was getting ready to start my second semester of the first year of college, i was jsut happy to have made it through the first one in ne pice and i was looking forward to hitting the second one head one, this time last year i ahd jsut started dating leslie and i was looking forward to moving on with the relatenship and to seeing where it went. i had just passed my EMT pratical exam and battaled through the maine winter storms that swept through the entire state right before x mas, i was horribaly sick but in general happy and looking forwarding to taking my national regrersity exam at the end of january and start running with unity ambulance on a regular bases. at this point in the year i had been running for somthign like three months as an observer and was ready to take the next steps towards becomign a full time member of the squad... lets see what else happened in 2008 ... school did get started and i ahd my room to my self because keith decided to move out the spring semester at unity was nice but the classes wer not what i had hoped that they would be i remember finding all of the gen ed stuff i had to take to be very boring and the fact that i was not allowled to be in any of the other cool adventure ed classes annoying. here i am a year later and i still have most of the same thoughts on the amtter of education i recall that mid way thorugh the spring i started really looing for jobs and decided that kingsley pines would be a good optetion to take for the summer, then there was the end of the semester and being worried abotut final grades and not seeing leslie for the summer, lets not froget the epic car pooling road trip fomr maine to va with my car blowing up and our little stop in new jersey and then before i knew it the sumemr was starting and it was off to canada with brother cousing and grand father for a few days to see some plays and visit some family good times and then in the blink of an eye it was time for work . my first real summer camp experience where i found out that i like the work a lot but that i was more like my monther then i had ever hoped o be, when i look back on that time now it seemed to fly by but day by day then it was slow going a lot of work and a lot of fun, i was hard being away form leslie knowing that i would only be able to see her for a little bit of time whe i got done ... before i know it it was time for the teary good buys and the summer was over it was off to unity for a week to see leslie and get ready for nols. wow was i that little and scaed looking when i came to unity as a freshmen?! i hope not leslie is now an ra and i think that she is going to do a great kob. those days flew by i now recall and then it was time to for nols off into the woods for three months 94 days i was out int he west having the time of my life and going throguh some of the hardest challanges that i have ever faced now im bak and it is a new year. when i look at the whole of 2008 this way it sems like there is not a whole lot to it, the whole bloody year zipped by before i really even noticed the stupid thing, some thigns are the same i am once again looking for jobs and looking forward to gionig back to unity ambulance aand excited about the classes for the spring, things are looking up i hope not that they were really down, in several days i leave for maine! i hope there is some snow!
